Group Creative Director
Michael began his career as a junior account executive at Chiat\Day in Los Angeles. He quickly realized that he did not want to be an account executive and that Los Angeles is a tough place to live when you're unemployed. He retreated home to Michigan where he took some writing classes and spent the next few years “getting closer to the consumer” as an electronics salesman at Circuit City and a store manager at Abercrombie & Fitch. His training also includes majoring in advertising, minoring in theatre, and watching more television and movies than anyone should ever admit to.
In his time at CE, Michael has helped Chevrolet win a Kelly Award, helped the Postal Service win an Effie award, and helped Kaiser Permanente win over the hearts and minds of thousands of people who didn't care much for them in the past.
Ask him and he'll describe what he does as a combination of storytelling and algebra (or is it chemistry?), and he'll tell you that he really, really, really loves doing it. His best days are the ones that allow him to remember that fact.
