Joy and happiness only a Onesie could bring.

As most creatives know – you’re required to give a badass creative gift for birthdays or Christmas. A gift that will knock people’s socks off – the cat’s pajamas of gifts. Meg Novak took her duty seriously. When her friend was having a baby, Meg did not disappoint. Her gift? (If you guessed cat pajamas, you’re close). Meg designed a customized baby Onesie that read “Heavensent.”

This soon turned into a thing. Meg, a mother herself, started designing different Onesies – all with positive messages that express the joy of babyhood.

“I just fell into it,” says Meg. “All my friends were getting pregnant at the same time, and I had to do something creative to keep the gift-giving reputation up!”

Word of the Onesies began traveling around the area, and Meg soon began receiving requests from boutiques wishing to sell them. She now sells her Onesies in local Metro-Detroit shops and a small Los Angeles boutique. Best sellers include "Please read to me," "Detroit" and "Plant a tree" wherein every sale includes the planting of an actual tree through Meg’s partnership with the National Arbor Foundation.

Through her experiences, Meg has become an anomaly in the creative field — a creative who tackles the organized, business end of the spectrum. “It has definitely given me a new appreciation for the different roles in the agency,” she says.
