Tim Patrick

From first-year member to board of directors to president, to president, to president —making waves in the San Antonio advertising community.

In 1993 Tim joined the American Advertising Federation (AAF) San Antonio chapter for the reason most do – to get plugged into the advertising scene and meet the big players in the community.

Tim didn’t just “join” the advertising circuit; he dove in head-first. He served on different committees within the AAF chapter, eventually landing on the board of directors in 2002. His first presidency of the club came in 2005, then again in 2007, and he’s back this year for his third term. Tim is also a three-time, local ADDY® chair, was regional ADDY/convention chair in 2005 and served as representative on the national ADDY committee. It is safe to say that Tim is now one of the “big players” in the San Antonio advertising community — and he did it all blindfolded with his hands tied behind his back!

His goals as sitting AAF San Antonio president include building relationships with other professional organizations in the San Antonio community, such as the Public Relations Society of America, American Marketing Association and the Alliance for Women in Media. Tim is also building AAF’s relationship with young professionals, helping to launch Ad 2 San Antonio – an affiliate chapter that creates hands-on learning experiences and educational opportunities for younger members.

“San Antonio has a strong advertising community,” says Tim. “My way of influencing the community and impacting change is to step up and get involved.”
